Jacob was a Scholar in 1861. In 1881 he was a boarder at 38, William Street, Swinton, Rotherham. He married (1) Martha Ann Haigh on 19th March 1884 at St Mary Church, Barnsley. After his first wife died he married (2) Alice Sophia Cranidge on 27th October 1890 at Althorpe, Lincolnshire and had four children, Cranidge, Leonard, Gladys Sophia & Percival Dixon. In 1891 they resided at Park Villa, Park Road, Mexborough. The family now resided at White Lee Grove, Swinton between 1901 & 1911. Although he was listed as married he was actually a Widower during these times. Jacob then married his last wife (3) Hannah Greenwood on 3rd February 1913 in All Saints Church, Salterhebble, Halifax, Yorkshire. He was a Coal Pit Labourer in 1871, a Railway Shunter between 1881 & 1891 and a Railway Guard between 1901 & 1911. Jacob died in 1937 in the district of Doncaster.

James was baptised on 11th October 1840 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley. James married (1) Elizabeth Lawton on 26th December 1860 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley and had five children, Sarah Jane, Mary, Mary Jane, Elizabeth & Ann. In 1861 the family resided at Warburton, Emley. Between 1869 & 1871 he resided at Stringer House Lane but in 1871 at Shings Lane, Emley. After his first wife died he married (2) Eliza Pollard in 1880 in the Ecclesall Bierlow district. The family still resided at Stringer Road Farm, Emley in 1881. Wife number (3) was Ann Bostockwho he married in 1888 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. The family resided at Top of Hill, Lower Cumberworth in 1891 and in 1901 at Lane Head, Cawthorne. In 1861 he was an Agricultural Labourer but in 1865 he was a Knife Blade Forger and between 1869 & 1891 was a Farmer but was an Ordinary Farm Labourer in 1901. James died on 3rd June 1909 in the Wortley district.

She was baptised on 2nd December 1832 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley. Jane married John Scargill on 8th September 1856 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley and had three children, William, Henry & Mason. Between 1861 and 1881 the family resided at Warburton, Emley. She died in 1887 at Emley.

The family resided at Thurlstone Bank, Thurlstone in 1861, at Millhouse Mill, Thurlstone between 1871 and 1881 but in 1891 she was a Widow residing at Scan Hall, Thurlstone with her youngest 3 daughters.

She then married (2) William Henry Ibbotson on 15th April 1878 in Sheffield, Yorkshire and had another nine children, Ellen, Gertrude, Jane, Blanche, Machen, Ada, Emma, John & Frederick. The family resided at 4, George Street, Worsbrough in 1891, in 1901 at 3, Rockley Row, Worsbrough and at 13, Thomas Street, Worsbrough Bridge in 1911 although she was widowed for the second time by then.

Job was baptised on 14th November 1830 at Midhope. In 1851 he was a Servant at Meltham, Lancashire. Job married Ann Stevenson in 1853 in the Wakefield, Yorkshire and had six children, Elizabeth Ann, Martha, Harriet, George Henry, Joseph Stevenson & Annice. The family resided at Hill Top, Dronfield between 1861 and 1891 but was a Widower between 1901 & 1911 at 6, Hill Top, Dronfield. Job was a Carter in 1851, a Coal Miner between 1861 & 1881, was a General Labourer in 1891 and in 1901 was an Agricutural Labourer. He died in 1915 in the district of Chesterfield.

He was baptised on 8th September 1822 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley. John married Maria Methley on 24th February 1846 at St Peter Church, Tankersley and had seven children, George, Emily Ann, Charles, Eliza, Priscilla, Hannah Matilda & Albert. The family resided at Longley Side Gate, Tankersley in 1851, at Side Gate, Elsecar Lane, Tankersley in 1861 and at Scholes, Kimberworth, Rotherham in 1871. He resided with his daughter in 1881 at 170, Kirkstall Road, Headingley, Leeds but was back with his wife in 1891 at 1, Havelock Street, Barnsley. In 1861 he was a Road Repairer & Toll Collector, in 1871 was a Labourer, was a Railway Labourer in 1881 and in 1891 was a Horse Keeper. John died in Barnsley on 2nd August 1893.

In 1841 he was an Agricultural Labourer, in 1861 an Iron Mine Labourer, a Coal Miner in 1871 but between 1881 & 1891 was a Coal Carter. Joseph died in Barnsley in 1896.

Joe married (1) Mary Sells on 23rd March 1857 at St Mary Church, Worsbrough and had three children, Hannah, Thomas & John. In 1861 the family resided at Job Wood, Worsbrough. In 1871 he was a widow and resided at 32, Albert Street, Barnsley. His future wife was boarding with him at the time. After Mary's death he married (2) Harriet Wood in 1885 in the district of Dewsbury and had another four children, Elizabeth, George Albert, Laura & John William. The family resided at 6, Scarbro Lane, Featherstone in 1881 and at 20, Long Row, Town End, Morley, Dewsbury, Yorkshire in 1891. Joseph was a Labourer in 1851, a Coal Miner between 1861 & 1881 and a Labourer in 1891.

The family resided at Far Cliffe, Wooldale, Holmfirth in 1881, in 1891 at Ingtholme Bridge, Thurstonland, Holmfirth and at Albany House, Wooldale, Holmfirth in 1901 In 1851 he was a Labourer, in 1861 was a Power Loom Woollen Weaver, a Woollen Manufacturer between 1881 & 1891 and an Insurance Agent in 1901. Joseph died on 27th February 1905 in the district of Huddersfield.

Joseph was baptised on 5th March 1837 at Midhope. In 1841 he resided with the Robinson', His aunt and uncle at Denby. They took him in after his mother's death. Then in 1861 was a Lodger at a Private House at Hoyland Common. Joseph married Ann Wilson on 24th May 1863 at St Oswald Church, Methley and had two children, Joseph & Squire. Between 1871 & 1891 the family resided at Watergate, Methley but in 1901 he was a widower living with his son, Squire at Lake Lock Fold, Stanley. He was a Coal Miner between 1861 & 1891 and a Market Gardener in 1901. Joseph died on 5th May 1915 at the West Riding Asylum in Wakefield and was buried at Stanley Cemetery, Wakefield.

Joseph married Nancy Dransfield in 1871 at Saddleworth. Between 1891 & 1901 they resided at 22, Birch Street, Ashton under Lyne, Bolton. By 1911 he was widowed and lived at 30, Roughtown, Mossley, Ashton Under Lyne. His sister, Harriet also resided with him. Joe was a Cotton Carder between 1861 & 1901 but had retired by 1911. He died in 1915 in the district of Ashton.

Joseph was baptised at Netherfield Congregational Chapel, Thurlstone, Penistone on 18th October 1840. In 1851 he was a School Boy. He was residing at Hall House, Upper Hallam, Sheffield and working as a Servant Carter in 1861. Joseph married Martha Haigh in 1873 in the Wortley district and had four children, Rachel Ann, Lucy, Frederick & Ann. The family resided at 104, Top Bank, Thurlstone in 1881. In 1881 he was a Steel Works Labourer. He died in 1887 in the district of Wortley.

Joseph married Jane Green on 26th June 1867 at All Saints Church, Silkstone, Barnsley, Yorkshire and had one child, Emma. In 1871 the family resided at the Lodge in Park, Wentworth Castle, in 1881 at Broomroyd Lodge, Stainbrough, Barnsley, Yorkshire and at Hood Green, Stainborough between 1891 & 1911, although he was widowed in 1907. Joseph was a Game Keeper between 1867 & 1881 but had retired by 1891. He died on 8th April 1919 in Barnsley, Yorkshire and was buried at Thurgoland on 12th April 1919.

Joe married Amy Bednal in 1891 in Manchester and had one child, Harold. In 1901 they resided at 171, Bolton Road, Elton, Bury and at Inglewood, Poppythorn Lane, Prestwich, Lancashire in 1911. Joseph was an Assistant Chemist in 1871 and a Registered Physician Surgeon between 1891 & 1901 but had retired by 1911. He died on 17th April 1933 at Hazel Bank, Clifton Drive, Lytham.

The family resided at Roughbirchworth, Oxspring, Penistone in 1861 and in 1871 was a Widow residing with her daughters at Bridge End, Penistone where she was a Dress Maker. After the death of Edward, in 1872 she  married (2) George Hepplestone on 23rd December 1872 at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone. The family resided at Penistone in 1881 and in 1891 she was once again Widowed and resided at 12, Wood Street, Whitfield, Glossop.

The family resided at Lane End, Flockton in 1871 and at 30, Paddock, Thornhill, Dewsbury between 1881 & 1891.

In 1881 the family resided at Spring Vale, Penistone, between 1891 & 1901 at 49, Dundas Street, Huddersfield and between 1911 & 1918 at 3, Spring Street, Huddersfield although she was widowed in 1906 but in 1939 she resided at 58, Stile Common Road, Huddersfield with one of her daughters.

In 1851 the family resided at 90, Farm Houses, Emley, in 1861 at Out Lane, Emley, at Emley in 1871 and at Emley Moor, Emley between 1881 & 1891. Mary was widowed in 1884 so in 1891 took over the Farming services from her husband. Mary died in 1901 at Emley.

She died in 1905 in the district of Wakefield.

Mary was baptised on 21st March 1839 at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone. In 1841 she was living with her Grand Parents.  Mary married Robert Henry Wood in 1860 in the district of Barnsley and had four children, Henry, John, Rebecca & Thomas Arthur. Between 1861 & 1871 the family resided at 1, Copster, Thurgoland. Mary died of Tubercular Consumption on 26th July 1865 at Thurgoland.

She died in the Dewsbury district in 1913.

Matthew married Rebecca Wilkinson in 1885 in the Wortley district and had eight children, William Wilkinson, Martha, Elizabeth, Joseph, Charles, Thomas, Matthew & Mary Ann. Between 1861 & 1881 the family resided in a Private House at Hoyland Nether, at the Moor, Flockton in 1881 and in 1891 at the Darton Arms, Flockton Moor. Matthew was a Coal Miner between 1861 & 1871, was Farming 48 Acres of Land in 1881 and was an Innkeeper in 1891. Matthew died in Wakefield, Yorkshire in 1896 and on 1st July 1896 was buried at St James the Great Church, Flockton.

She died in 1914 at Saddleworth and was buried on 14th August 1914 at St Thomas Friarmere Church, Delph, Yorkshire.

Sarah was baptised at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone on 17th January 1839. In 1851 she was a Scholar. Sarah married Allen Wilkinson at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone on 14th March 1865 and had five children, Amelia, Jane, Ben, George & Sarah Ellen. The family resided at Thurlstone, Bank, Thurlstone, Penistone in 1871, at Robin Row, Thurlstone in 1881 and between 1891 & 1901 she was a Widow residing at Millhouse, Thurlstone. Sarah was a Laundress in 1881. She died in 1906 in the district of Wortley.

Sarah was baptised at All Saints Church, Cawthorne on 4th January 1852. In 1861 she was a Scholar. Sarah never married. She resided at Kirkfield Close, Penistone, Yorkshire in 1939. Sarah died on 10th February 1947.

Sarah was a Cotton Reeler in 1881. She married Christian Dixon in 1882 at St John Church, Roughtown, Saddleworth and had five children, Charles Henry, Elizabeth Hannah, Harriet A, Minerva S & Joseph Leonard. Sarah also emigrated to America to be with her husband. In 1904 she sailed to England from Boston on the Saxonia with her two youngest children and arrived at Liverpool on 25th August 1904 but she only stayed for a few days as they returned from Liverpool on the SS Cymric arriving in Boston on 8th October 1904, presumably to sort out the last few issues before returning to America for the last time.

She was a Scholar in 1871. Sarah died on 25th August 1877 at Shelley and on 29th August 1877 was buried at Shelley Parish Church.

In 1861 she was a Scholar and a Servant in 1871 residing at Out Lane, Netherthong, Huddersfield. She had a child, William Henry SILVERWOOD with Unknown Unknown. Selina married James Scott on 28th April 1890 at Shelley. In 1891 the family resided at 15, Thorncliffe, Shelley. She died on 16th September 1900 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire and is buried at Kirkburton.

Sidney was baptised at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone on 11th March 1847. Sidney married Sarah Ann Senior in 1868 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. He was an Iron Works Labourer in 1861. Sidney died in 1871 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire and on 19th February 1871 was buried at St Augustine Church, Scissett.

Thomas was baptised at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone on 27th February 1823. Thomas married Ann Matthewman on 4th December 1848 at All Saints Church, Silkstone and had six children, Thomas, Sarah Maria, Edwin Green, Thomas Henry, Elizabeth & Ann. In 1851 the family resided with his parents at Roughbirchworth, Oxspring but in 1861 were living at Thurlstone bank, Thurlstone and in 1871 at Unsliven Bridge, Hunshelf. Tom was a Carter in 1861 and an Iron Works Labourer in 1871. Thomas died in 1872 at Hunshelf and on 19th March 1872 was buried at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone.

Thomas was baptised at St Michael the Archangel, Emley on 31st August 1828. In 1851 he was a Wool Comber. He died in 1851 in the Wakefield, Yorkshire and on 17th April 1851 was buried at St Michael the Archangel, Emley.

Thomas was baptised at St Michael the Archangel, Emley on 23rd July 1834. Thomas married (1) Lavinia Grason on 26th December 1855 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley and had six children, John, Thomas Grason, Henry, Eleanor, John & Mary Ellen. Between 1861 & 1871 the family resided at Thorncliffe, Emley. He married (2) Emma Errington (nee Thirkill) on 27th July 1876 at St Michael the Archangel, Emley and had another child Lavinia. His wife no (3) Jane Preston (Nee Burgoines) who he married on 2nd September 1880 at the Parish Church. Dewsbury. The family resided at Woodbine Street, Dewsbury in 1881. In 1861 he was a Rate Collector and Agricultural Labourer, a Farmer of 97 Acres in 1871 and between 1877 & 1881 was a Rate Collector of Dewsbury. He died in the district of Leeds in 1904.

Timothy was baptised on 20th April 1845 at St James Church. Midhope. Timothy married (1) Harriet Helliwell in Bradfield on 22nd April 1866 and had two children, Clara & Edith. In 1871 the family resided at High Street, Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield. After the death of his first wife he married (2) Hannah Carr  on 20th May 1876 at Pitsmoor, Sheffield and had another seven children, Mary Ellen, Gertrude, Barbara, Timothy, Hannah, Joseph & John. The family resided at 8, Spring Place, Attercliffe Cum Darnall in 1881 and between 1891 & 1901 at 1, Spring Place, Attercliffe Cum Darnall, Sheffield. Tim was an Iron Works Labourer in 1861, a Steel Work Labourer in 1871 and a Furnaceman in the Steel Works between 1881 & 1901. He died in the district of Sheffield in 1903 and on 26th April 1903 was buried in Sheffield.

He emigrated from Liverpool in 1873 on the Ship City of Bristol arriving at New York, America on 8th April 1873 and in 1885 was naturalized. Tim married Eliza Andrews and had seven children, Charles Herbert, Minerva, Letitia, Malvina Beatrice, Honorine, Lilian & Marion E. Between 1885 & 1900 the family resided at Fall River, Massachusetts. He died on 28th February 1936 at Fall River.
