The family resided at the White Horse Inn, Elliot Street, Tyldesley between 1881 & 1901 and in 1911 at 127, Elliott Street, Tyldesley. He was a Coal Miner in 1871 but by 1881 he had become the Licensee of the White Horse Inn and was a Beer Seller until at least 1911.
