Thomas and Sarah Ellen were the illegitimate children of Thomas Hyde Crawley-Boevy, the son of of the local lord of the manor. Eliza was allowed to live for the rest of her life in the Old Mill cottage on the Faxley Estate rent free. Eliza had some pride and insisted on paying the amount due. Eliza married William Scrivens on 29th June 1862 at Blaisdon Church, Gloucestershire and had seven children, Eliza, Martha, Emily, William, Charles, Harriet & Elizabeth. Between 1871 and 1881 the family resided at Green Bottom, East Dean, Gloucestershire and in 1891 at Foundry Lane, East Dean. She was a Widowed Charwoman residing at Gunns Mill, East Dean, Forest of Dean between 1901 & 1911. Eliza died on 10th June 1916 at Abenhall, Gloucestershire. |
