John was baptised on 15th July 1832 in St Michael & All Angels Church, Blaisdon, Gloucestershire. John married (1) Elizabeth Burcher on 18th September 1848 in Walford, Hereford and had a daughter, Harriet M. He was charged for assault on 10 December 1849 and sentenced to 2 Months imprisonment. In 1851 the family resided at Rock Farm Lane, Blaisdon, Gloucestershire where he was an Agricultural Labourer. A few years later he again found himself on the wrong side of the law and was charged with house breaking on 27 September 1856 but this time he was found not guilty.
John was 5'8" Tall, with brown hair, grey eyes, long visage, fresh complexion. In addition he had a burn on his back, a cut on his left wrist and right groin.

The family resided at 6, Stone Place, Kings Norton, Warwickshire in 1851 and in 1871 at 98a, Bramsgrove Street, Birmingham. After the death of his first wife he married his wife's niece (2) Harriett Boswell on 5th June 1876 at St Jude Church, Birmingham and had another five children, John Edward, Hetty, Ada, Samuel & Walter. The family resided at 6, Stone Place, Kings Norton, Warwickshire in 1861 and in 1881 at 98, Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham, in 1891 had moved to 32, Marshall Street, Birmingham and were at 18, Chequers Walk, Birmingham in 1901. He was an Iron Plate Worker between 1871 & 1901. Thomas died on 26th February 1908 in Birmingham.

In 1851 he resided at Handley Farm, Blaisdon. William joined the 41st (Welsh) Regiment on foot on 5th January 1855 and was discharged as being unfit on 18th June 1861. When the Crimean War broke out the 41st Regiment with the rest of the British Army were landed some 50 miles north of Sevastopol. Marching southwards they were soon in battle at Alma River, Inkerman and the siege of Sevastopol. The troops then had to suffer the rigours of the Russian winter before the peace treaty was signed in March 1856. William married Eliza Reynolds on 29th June 1862 at Blaisdon Church, Gloucestershire and had seven children, Eliza, Martha, Emily, William, Charles, Harriet & Elizabeth. Between 1871 & 1881 the family resided at Green Bottom, East Dean, Gloucestershire and in 1891 at Foundry Lane, East Dean. He was a Genera. Servant in 1851 and a Colliery Labourer between 1871 & 1891. William died on 10th May 1899 at Green Bottom, Gloucestershire and was buried on 15th May 1899 at Holy Trinity (Forest) Church, Drybrook, Gloucestershire.

In 1861 the family lived at Worsbrough Common, Barnsley but by 1871 lived at Burtons Bridge, Monk Bretton, Barnsley. In 1875 the family resided at New Colliery, Monk Bretton before moving to 18, High Street, Monk Bretton by 1881 and in 1882 the family had moved again to Thurlstone where they stayed. She died in 1904 in the district of Wortley and was buried at St John the Baptist Church, Penistone on 15th October 1904.
