The family resided at 1, Oakland Cottages, Fairfield, Derbyshire in 1901 and in 1939 at 10, Fairfield Road, Buxton, Derbyshire.

Ernest was baptised on 16th May 1869 in St Bartholomew Church, Sydenham, Kent. In 1881 he was a Scholar and was a boarder at Priory Hill, Wolston, Rugby, Warwickshire. Ernest married Clara Florence Turrall on 24th August 1895 in St Michael Church, Coventry and had two children, Leslie Turrall & Hubert Moy. In 1901 the family resided at 170, Forest Hill Road, Lewisham, Sydenham, Kent and in 1911 at, 82, Hayes Road, Whoberley, Hayes, Bromley, Kent. He was a Warehouseman in a Trimming Manufacturing Company between 1891 & 1901 and in 1911 was a Manufacturer Coach Carriage and Motor Car Laces Trimmings and Upholstering Broad Goods Finges Cords Gimps etc.

Ernest married Alice Jane Gilbert in 1909 in Barnsley, Yorkshire. They resided at Cambridge House, Darfield, Barnsley, Yorkshire in 1911 and in 1939 at 24, Hough Lane, Wombwell, Barnsley. He was a Surveyors Clerk in 1901, a Surveyor and Sanitary Inspector in 1911 and a Registrar of Births & Death's in 1939.
