In 1901 the family resided at 35, Little Field Road, Wombwell, at 7, School Street, Wombwell in 1911 and in 1939 at 7, School Street, Wombwell. He was a Coal Miner between 1901 & 1939.

In 1901 the family resided at 9, Portland Garderns, Tottenham, London, Middlesex, in 1911 at 56, Park Hall Road, East Finchley , Finchley, Barnslet, Middlesex and in 1939 at 11a, Ground Parade Mews, Hornsey, Middlesex. In 1891 he was a Colliery Labourer, was a Teacher of Shorthand between 1901 & 1911 and in 1939 was an Accountant to the Institution of Gas Engineers (Corporate Body). Joseph died in 1952 in Wood Green, London.
