She worked at Fry's Chocolate Factory between 1931 & 1937 then later she worked behind the bar at the Lamb and Lark Hotel and at Keynsham Pickle Factory. Emily died on 10th October 1972 at 110, Chorlton Road, Keynsham and was buried at Keynsham Cemetery. |

He returned to Colliery work but during the war worked as a cook in a forestry camp in Soudley Hill Winchcome. After the war he worked at Eastern United Colliery, Ruspidge and worked until he was 70 years of age. Sydney emigrated in 1971 to New Zealand, then Western Australia, to live with his son Colin. In 1973 he resided at a Care Home at Hamilton Hill where he died of Chronic Emphysematous Bronchitis, Prostatism, on 30th November 1974 and was cremated on 2nd December 1974 at Fremantle, Western Australia. |

William was conscripted into the 1st/8th Battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. It was said that he was given little training, only using farming implements to drill with. On the morning of the 4th of November 1918, a week before Armistice was signed, he was issued with his first rifle and sent into battle on an attack at Llandrecies about 40km from Valenciennes in northern France, by noon he was dead. |
